Christmas Tree

Just put up our Christmas tree this past weekend! Fake Christmas trees might be easier and, in the long run, less of an expense... But cutting down a tree has its own magic that makes it worth it for us! Besides, it's a Case family tradition. :) Here we are at Snickers Gap Christmas Tree Farm outside Round Hill, VA.
Here's the one we decided on. Phil cut it down. And yes, it's HUGE!! We didn't realize how big it was until we got it home...

Like I said. Huge. It barely fits! But it sure is beautiful, and it has a wonderful scent too.
Some of my favorite ornaments...

This one Nancy gave me years and years ago.
One of many in a snowman set the Cases have had for years.
Just got this one this year.
Also one of a set of many. These houses are Thomas Kincade-esque.
Hope you all are enjoying the Christmas season... 11 days until Christmas!

  1. Ok, Sylvie, it's HUGE! :-D But, it looks absolutely beautiful. This was our first year cutting our own, and although it's more expensive, I'm hoping that the tree will last longer (in better condition) and that somehow it's more ecological to "buy locally", or something! It was fun, but next year we'll go prepared - like being dressed warm enough!

I've photo-cataloged (most of) our ornaments and I'd love to do a write-up telling where we got them all and when. I think that'd be a fun story to retell down the road!

    10 days until Christmas!

  2. Gorgeous tree! We cut our own, also. Last year, I was about to deliver when we got our tree. This year, I was 7 and a half months preg., and had an almost one year old. Gosh - a lot can change in one year! We went prepared with us all dressed as warm as possible, and I brought a baby carrier, figuring I could carry Jesse back to the car by wearing him, and Mike would take the tree. I didn't count on my belly protesting the weight on it, so Mike ended up carrying both!! He was like Paul Bunyon coming out of the forest with a tree slung over his shoulder and a child hugged to his chest :) The men at the tree farm coundn't get over it. Of course, I had to tell everyone within a one-mile radius that I was PREGNANT and my belly hurt, not that I was lazy :)
