Anyway, hello everybody! It's been a little while since I've written, but I guess there just hasn't been that much to report.. until today. :) Just this morning I had minor surgery done on my right wrist... For years it has bothered me - since I was a teenager, I think. Most of the time it just felt weak, and if I overused it (playing guitar too much, using a mouse too much, even just leaning my body weight on it for a push-up or something), it would get very easily injured. And sometimes for no apparent reason at all, maybe once every few months, it would get to hurting so badly that I could barely move it or use it at all, and that would last for a week or more. Over the last year, it has gotten so bad that when these flare-ups would happen, my elbow and shoulder would badly ache as well... So, because I finally have good health insurance, I went to get it checked out. Based on an MRI they did, they said it was a ganglion cyst. And because it caused so much pain, insurance would cover the cost of surgery to remove it. Yay!
So surgery was this morning! I'm still a bit groggy. Because of the narcotics I'm on now for the pain, they said it's kind of the same as being drunk! So it's illegal for me to drive or anything... I don't feel drunk though -- just groggy. :) Anyway, so because Jeff is in California on a business trip, it was Phil who went with me, bless him. We left at 6 a.m., my surgery was at 9, and we were out of there by 11:30. And the surgeon discovered that it wasn't a cyst at all.... It was a mass of fatty tissue that had been aggravating the tissue around it..... He sent it off to the lab, just to be sure it wasn't cancerous or anything. I've gotta wear this Ace bandage for three days, and then I'll get the stitches taken out in two weeks. I'm just so excited that my wrist will be better! Hopefully this will fix the problem!
And if you're wondering how I typed this........

AND ~ tomorrow afternoon I'm leaving for our church's women's retreat at Rocky Gap Resort in Maryland! I'll be riding up with Christy, one of the pastor's wives (lol... that sounded funny... she IS his only wife, in case that wasn't clear) who is about my age, has three beautiful girls, is leading the worship at the retreat... I'm just excited to get to know her better during our two-hour car ride. And I'm just super excited to get away, spend time with the wonderful ladies of Blue Ridge Bible Church, hear from the much-praised guest speaker, Margaret Ashmore, get recharged and refreshed, and receive biblical encouragement (and probably admonition too) to continue living for the Lord. I'm expecting good things. :)
Hope you are feeling better quickly!
ReplyDeleteFatty tissue?? So, does that bring you down to 0% body fat, now? ;)
